ARTIST'S PROFILE My artwork combines three of my passions: nature, painting and photography. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Michigan State University and a Master of Art Education from Wayne State University. I am inspired by my love of flowers and nature. My main inspiration comes from my own Livonia garden. The garden has a wide array of flowers including sunflowers, lilies, daffodils, roses, passion flowers and wildflowers. There are also several bird feeding stations and flowering trees. My handcolored photographs are created by taking black and white photographs and then handcoloring them using Marshall's oil paint. Many of my colored photographs are photographed on handmade paper for a painterly effect. I want to draw my viewers into my pieces feeling as if they just stepped into a world they had not really discovered before. I hope my art inspires my viewers to share their own love of nature so we can all continue to observe, enjoy, and help preserve nature and wildlife. SUSAN SKIBICKI
